First, shop around for the credit card terms that are best for your needs. Look over and make sure you understand the disclosure and terms that accompany credit card offers. Be sure that the credit limit offered is high enough, that the card is widely accepted, and what features (such as frequent flier miles) are offered.
How do I correct errors on my bill?
Notify the card company in writing within 60 days of the error. Include your name, account number, amount of the error, and why you believe it is an error in your letter. The card issuer must investigate the error within two billing cycles, and either correct the error or inform you why the bill is correct.
